Hello Pilipinas and congratulations, we have ourselves a new president! We’re excited to know more about our new leader President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino III from his goals, plans, dreams, plans of action, political stand, beliefs, likes, dislikes and yes, favorite food!

What’s comfort food to you?
Tropical Hut hamburger, dimsum from Hap Chan and Kowloon, Ma Mon Luk, pizza from D’Mark’s.

Oh, yeah. =) Well, it amused me because I love (and miss) the good foodies from Ma Mon Luk and I am constantly reminded of it because I work and am friends with one of the (great grand?) descendants of the awesome Chinese-Filipino chef.

And no, this is not a paid post to advertise Ma Mon Luk, I am just really generally amused… and  hungry. ^_^’ Waaa.. I want dimsum now… like now.~

Visit the restaurant at Quezon Avenue!

Learn more interesting stuff about P-Noy from the interview by Mr. Jim Paredes “Shooting the breeze with P-Noy“.

Jollibee in Glee

Philippine’s very own fast food giant Jollibee had some air time on the background in  the recent episode of the American musical comedy-drama television series Glee. The ’80s hit, Safety Dance by Men Without Hats was performed by Glee cast Artie Abrams (played by Kevin McHale) in Eagle Rock Mall in Glendale, Los Angeles, California. (and apparently there’s a Chowking restaurant there as well!)

The episode was “Dream On”, 19th installment of the  second season that premiered on the Fox Network on May 18, 2010. Neil Patrick Harris guest-stars as former glee club star Bryan Ryan. *legen..dary!*

Productivity? It’s all the in sack.

We have free cooked rice or kanin in Tagalog for lunch in the office I work in.  I found this sack of rice supply in the  kitchen, and well, I was just amused with the name. ~

Sinandomeng is one of the many varieties of rice in the Philippines.  It is characterized as a varierty with  a longer grain thus a more full and hearthy cooked rice. Yum. Ulam na lang!~

The day I went back to UP Diliman

Posted by rjene on Jan 30, 2010 in Dailies, Orig Pinoy

I few weeks ago, I got to go back to UP Diliman, my university - the University of the Philippines. I didn’t know how much I missed the place! The spaces, the trees, the (fresh) air, the whole uplifting academic enviroment that just makes you love learning and go back to school.

Even though I only got to go inside Palma Hall aka AS again, still some pictures just had to be taken for the sake of.

In front of Palma Hall - the AS steps, student groups are given freedom to express their feelings by street painting/messages, may it be for the sake of art, political or social views. Events and gathering are held here a lot, too.

Inside AS, there are boards anyone can postto  freely (…so, just imagine how it was in the non-cellphone eras…), walls are canvases (here  seen in the center, the Oblation, the symbol of UP, around it various scenes from our history). Lobbies are usually hangout/meeting places, waiting areas, or “tambayan” with no seats around, we just crash on the floors - the UP way… I guess not anymore?

And what do you do in UP to kill time? (if you weren’t studying or partying that is.. hehe…) We eat!
